Last week I took H.E. round the University and he now knows the state of affairs.
Sir Mark wants to know where the money is to come from for rehabilitation. The only money locally available is the $350,000 grant from the local government for the current year. Can you say whether any money from the grant and loan made by the Home Treasury will be forthcoming for purposes of local rehabilitation? Without such a grant it would appear that the whole project is likely to be held up. H.E. has approved the idea of getting the P.W.D. to prepare an estimate of the cost of the rehabilitation suggested above. When Simpson and Robertson arrive I hope we shall be able to
arrange an early conference with H.E. to decide what can be done.
